TAIZ, Dec. 06 (YPA) – A huge explosion rocked the city of Al-Turbah, specifically the police station in Al-Shamaitain district, which is controlled by Islah Party factions, south of Taiz governorate, southern Yemen, on Saturday afternoon.
Local sources reported that the incident was caused by a car bomb that detonated behind the wall of the Al-Shamaitain district security headquarters. The explosion sparked panic among residents and caused material damage.
The sources reported no casualties, while the causes or motives behind the bombing, or who was responsible still unknown.
Observers believe that this explosion may be related to the conflict between factions loyal to the UAE and those loyal to Saudi Arabia, similar to what has occurred in eastern Yemen.
