Severe cold weather, sea disturbance warnings issued in Yemen

SANAA, Dec. 03 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning issued on Wednesday important warnings to citizens regarding extremely cold weather and anticipated frost over the next 24 hours in several governorates.

These include Sanaa, Dhamar, Amran, and Bayda governorates, in addition to the highlands of Ibb, Dhalea, Lahj, and Abyan governorates.

The center expects cold conditions to persist in the highlands of Hajjah, Mahweet, Rayma, and Taiz governorates, as well as the plateaus of Shabwa and Hadramout governorates.

The center warned of sea disturbance and high waves are expected in Bab al-Mandab and the Western Coast due to active winds reaching speeds of up to 25 knots.

It recommended citizens to take necessary measures to protect the elderly, children, and the sick from the severely cold weather, especially in the mountainous highlands.

The center also recommended farmers and fishermen to take precautions to protect crops and livestock, and warning fishermen and seafarers about the rough maritime conditions.
