GAZA, Nov. 27 (YPA) – Adnan Abu Hasna, Media Advisor for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), described what he called the “most dangerous humanitarian falsification operation” via the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” (GHF).
Abu Hasna confirmed that GHF was a phantom front presented as an alternative to the agency, composed of retired military personnel with no relief experience.
In a statement to the Palestine newspaper, Abu Hasna explained that the declared goal of the GHF was to push Gaza residents southward through only four distribution points, compared to 400 for UNRWA. He stressed that the collapse of the foundation was expected, and that “an 76-year-old UN system cannot be replaced.”
He stated that the experience proved the failure of all Israeli occupation attempts to replace UNRWA, noting that the agency is the “only cohesive and organized body in Gaza” capable of performing essential roles in food, health, and education.
Abu Hasna emphasized that UNRWA’s work is tied to a UN resolution, not Israeli law, asserting “We will remain in Gaza… to serve our people.”
