Sanaa briefs UN official on “serious” details regarding espionage cells

SANAA, Nov. 26 (YPA) – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in Sanaa government, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, met on Wednesday with the United Nations Regional Coordinator, Moeen Shreim, to brief him on serious details concerning espionage cells.

During the meeting, Abu Ras pointed to the legal measures taken against the espionage cells involved in the crime of targeting the head and members of the Change and Construction Government, describing it as a “dangerous precedent” at the regional and global levels.

Abu Ras also explained that the incident negatively impacted the relationship with the United Nations, demanding that it take steps to restore the trust of the Yemeni people. He stressed the government’s commitment to providing facilities to international organizations that operate impartially and respect the Yemeni constitution and laws.

For his part, the UN Regional Coordinator affirmed the organization’s keenness on its relationship with Yemen, its security and stability, and its efforts to achieve peace.
