Aden people plan to carry out open sit-in to Maashiq Palace for improving inclusive services

ADEN, Nov. 25 (YPA) – The people of the city of Aden and the southern provinces are planning to carry out a large sit-in to demand financial rights and improve inclusive services before Maashiq Palace, which is taken by the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC)and the pro-coalition-backed Aden government as its headquarters.

The body of the so-called “Presidency of the Supreme Coordination Council of Pensioners’ Associations” called on all categories of “forcibly dismissed from their jobs, whether military, security and civilians, to a large sit-in in front of the Maashiq gate, next Thursday.

In a statement, the commission indicated that the open sit-in comes in response to the failure of the PLC and its government to respond to their demand to pay their financial dues, which have been stopped since the past months, and affected their living suffering.

The statement called on the affected groups, all human rights activists, media professionals, teachers and all groups to interact and mobilize to support the demands, in an attempt to create a situation of broad popular pressure.

The call for an open sit-in came due to the tragic conditions experienced by pensioners in Aden and the southern provinces, due to the aggravation of the living crisis and the collapse of the electricity and water services sector, while “talking about fake economic reforms” was still without any tangible impact on reality.
