Southern leader survives assassination attempt in Yemen’s Aden

ADEN, August 1 (YPA) – A leader in the so-called Southern Transitional Council (TSC) survived an assassination attempt by the UAE occupation-backed militia in Aden, southern Yemen.

“Yesterday, I survived an assassination attempt in Aden city when unknown gunmen fired shots towards my car near a near a security checkpoint north of Anama’a in the district of al-Buraqa ,” The head of the services Department of the Southern Transitional Council, Ali Ahmed Hassan said on his Facebook account, adding that the security member forces in the checkpoint were able to identify the gunmen who tried to kill Ali Ahmed Hassan.

They also tried to justify their shooting by saying that of the car was suspicious.

Earlier, Unknown gunmen assassinated an intelligence officer in the southern Yemeni city of Aden on Sunday evening.

Aden witnessed a wave of assassinations which targeted a number of military, security leaders and clerics, including imams and mosque preachers amid the spread of armed groups of al-Qaeda and Daesh.
