Islah armed gangs terrorize residents of Taiz’s Al-Mushki Neighbourhood

TAIZ, Nov. 14 (YPA) – Armed gunmen affiliated with the Saudi-led coalition-backed Islah factions carried out an attack on a commercial shop and several homes in the Al-Mushki neighbourhood of central Taiz on Friday.

Local sources reported the gunmen opened fire randomly on the shop and nearby homes near Al-Ansar Mosque, causing panic among residents following Friday prayers.

The sources added that the provocative attack did not result in any casualties but caused material damage to the targeted shop, amid ongoing unrest in the city dating back to early 2016.

So far, Islah factions have not issued any official statement explaining the reasons behind the attack.

The neighbourhood remains heavily militarized, with residents accusing criminal gangs of spreading cannabis and other drugs across various parts of the city.
