Food aid distribution to displaced, affected people inaugurated in Amran

AMRAN, July 31 (YPA) – Governor of Amran, Faisal Ja’man, inaugurated on Tuesday the distribution of food aid implemented by the School Feeding and Humanitarian Relief Project, provided by World Food Program to displaced and affected people in a number of Amran’s districts.

In the inaugurating, Ja’man pointed out that the distribution of food aid will contribute to alleviate the suffering of displaced and needy families.

Ja’man pointed out that thousands of displaced families, especially from the province of Hodeidah are lacked many basic services, especially the food and housing needs as well as health services and others.

 

He called on humanitarian organizations to provide urgent aid to displaced families and the poorest, noting the efforts of the school feeding project, humanitarian relief and the World Food Program to provide relief to those affected.

The food aid targeted 24,734 families in Amran, Aial Sarih, Kharaf, Zlameh, Jebel Yazid mount and Thibin districts.
