Iran reveals visit by IAEA inspectors to nuclear sites

TEHRAN, Nov. 11 (YPA) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on Monday that inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) visited several Iranian nuclear sites last week.

He noted that Tehran would remain committed to its obligations as a member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Baghaei stated that the inspectors visited the Tehran Research Reactor, but he did not reveal the other sites were visited.

The IAEA has conducted more than 10 inspections in Iran since the war launched by Israel against the country, in which the United States participated, last June.

However, the agency said last week that it had not been granted access to the nuclear facilities bombed by the US military like Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said that Iran should make “serious improvements” in its cooperation with inspectors to avoid escalating tensions with the West.
