Woman in Taiz screams as militants try to storm her home

SANAA, Nov. 08 (YPA) – A woman issued an urgent distress call, on Friday, saying that armed militants loyal to the Saudi-led coalition tried to storm her home in the Al-Shamayteen district, southern Taiz Governorate.

The citizen, Rana Adel Al-Sharabi, stated in a post on Facebook that armed men loyal to the Islah party were attempting to storm her house, located behind the old hospital in the Al-Maqam neighborhood, to take her three-year-old child.

Al-Sharabi explained that the militants aimed to take her child from her arms and hand him over to his grandparents, who reside outside Taiz, noting that the child’s father is married and currently in Saudi Arabia.

She further claimed that orders were issued by the so-called “Head of the Hujariah Court” to bring her “dead or alive,” according to her post, which included a video capturing women screaming in the background.

Al-Sharabi called on the people of Al-Turbah, whom she referred to as “the free people,” as well as all Yemenis, to stand with her. Her plea received responses from numerous activists demanding an end to repeated violations against civilians in Al-Turbah and across Taiz.

Pro- coalition authorities have not commented on the incident or on the reported orders to raid citizens’ homes, especially considering that Friday is a public holiday.
