Barghouti: Gaza must be governed by its people, “foreign guardianship” is rejected

GAZA, Nov. 06 (YPA) – Dr. Mustafa Barghouti, Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative movement, stated on Thursday that the administration of the Gaza Strip must be exclusively for its people, stressing the categorical rejection of any foreign guardianship or presence in managing the Strip’s affairs.

Barghouti clarified that Gaza possesses national competencies, consisting of independent and non-partisan figures, who are capable of taking responsibility in various fields.

He also indicated that all political negotiations must serve the interest of the resilient Palestinian people who thwarted the displacement project.

Barghouti pointed out that over the past two years, “Israel” has seized 16% of the occupied West Bank’s area and established 22 new settlements.

He confirmed that “Smotrich,” who manages the West Bank portfolio in the occupation government, facilitated the killing of 35 Palestinians by Zionist settlers and the martyrdom of over a thousand by Israeli occupation soldiers’ bullets.

In a related context, the United States announced the submission of a draft resolution to the Security Council that calls for the establishment of a “Peace Council” as a transitional body for reconstruction and aid organization in Gaza.

The draft proposes forming a temporary international stabilization force and stipulates that the Palestinian Authority’s reforms be evaluated based on the plan of President Donald Trump’s administration.
