US moves to establish new military base in Syria

DAMASCUS, Nov. 06 (YPA) – The United States of America is preparing to establish a new military base in the Damascus area, southern Syria, with the aim of overseeing the security agreement currently being formed between Syria and “Israel.”

The base is scheduled to be built on territory that will be demilitarized as part of the agreement.

US officials and a Western military source reported that the Pentagon has accelerated preparations over the past two months.

Technical tests were conducted at the site, including the landing of a C-130 transport aircraft, to ensure the flight path meets the requirements of the US military.

Both sides are currently discussing the technical aspects of operating the base, including logistical, intelligence, refueling, and humanitarian needs.
