Sanaa plans to establish cybersecurity authority

SANAA, Nov. 04 (YPA) – Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology in Sanaa, Ali Al-Makni, affirmed on Tuesday the ministry has planned to establish a specialized authority dedicated to information technology and cybersecurity.

This announcement was made during the third Digital Financial Consumer Forum, organized by the Yemeni Consumer Protection Association in partnership with the Sanaa-based Central Bank of Yemen.

Al-Makni also discussed the Ministry’s role in protecting network and information security and developing the communications infrastructure to keep pace with the latest advancements in digital transformation and cybersecurity.

He further noted the ministry’s intention also to grant licenses for information technology and systems to all financial and banking institutions.
