TEXAS, Nov. 03 (YPA) – Activists in Houston, Texas, launched a new campaign called the Houston Arms Ban Campaign, coinciding with the Houston International Maritime Conference, to demand a halt to any military shipments or combat equipment that might pass through the Port of Houston en route to the Israeli occupation.
The organizers base their call on the responsibility of the American logistical infrastructure for facilitating the transfer of weapons, emphasizing that the Port of Houston has become a key hub for military-related maritime shipping.
The activists assert that stopping the passage of deadly shipments through this port is a practical step towards ending American support for the occupation and also opens the door to a new discussion about the ethics of the American maritime industry and the legal responsibility of shipping companies under international law.
