OCCUPIED QUDS, Nov. 03 (YPA) – The Israeli Knesset’s Security Committee approved the “Prisoner Execution Bill” targeting Palestinian prisoners on Monday.
This is a preliminary step before the bill is presented for a final vote next Wednesday.
The law is considered part of the coalition agreements that led to the formation of the current government, led by Benjamin Netanyahu and the extremist Itamar Ben-Gvir.
It is worth noting that the bill is not new; it has been proposed repeatedly in previous years. It was initially approved in a preliminary reading in March 2023 after the extremist Minister Ben-Gvir reintroduced it with a set of amendments.
