Gaza Civil Defense warns of harsh conditions as winter approaches

GAZA, Nov. 02 (YPA) – The Gaza Strip’s residents are facing harsh conditions as winter approaches, without shelter or tents available for displaced people after nearly 90% of homes and property were destroyed, the Civil Defense Directorate in the Gaza Strip confirmed on Sunday.

This came in a statement by the directorate that highlighted the imminent challenges, noting that the people of the sector lack any real preparations to face the cold, and that children face “the risk of death”.

“The residents are suffering from dire circumstances with the lack of aid deliveries, noting that international talk of bringing in tents is a mockery of the people of Gaza, as they will not protect them from the harsh winter,” the statement added.

It explained that there are no preparations in the Strip to cope with winter, and children are at risk of death, indicating that only 24% of the planned aid trucks have entered the Strip.
