Knesset to debate death penalty bill for Palestinian prisoners next week

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Oct. 30 (YPA) – Hebrew media reported Thursday that the Israeli Knesset is set to discuss next week a bill that would allow the execution of Palestinian prisoners.

According to Channel 14, the legislation will be brought before the Knesset plenum for debate.

Ofir Katz, head of the coalition in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government approved the inclusion of the bill, which seeks to impose the death penalty on Palestinian detainees, on the Knesset’s agenda.

Katz was quoted in the statement as saying that “the coalition is firmly committed to approving the law as soon as possible.”
