Russian air defense systems intercept, destroy 170 Ukrainian drones overnight

MOSCOW, Oct. 30 (YPA) – The Russian Defense Ministry announced that air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 170 Ukrainian drones overnight across Russian territory, including six that were heading toward Moscow.

“During the past night, air defense systems intercepted and shot down 170 Ukrainian drones — 48 over Bryansk Region, 21 over Voronezh, 16 over Nizhny Novgorod, 15 over Kaluga, 14 over Rostov, and 10 over Kursk,” RT reported, citing a statement issued by the country’s Defense Ministry.

In the Moscow region, air defenses neutralized nine drones, including six heading toward the capital.

In addition, five targets were destroyed over each of the Ryazan, Volgograd, and Novgorod regions, while four were taken down over Belgorod, Oryol, and the Republic of Crimea. One more drone was eliminated in the Lipetsk region.

Kiev’s forces continue to target southwestern Russian regions with drones and missiles on an almost daily basis, while Russian troops press forward along multiple fronts in Ukraine.
