GPC leader accuses STC of using “fight against terrorism’ to settle the scores in Abyan

ABYAN, Oct. 27 (YPA) – A senior member of Yemen’s General People’s Congress (GPC) loyal to the Saudi-led coalition has accused leaders of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) of practicing excessive regionalism against the people of Abyan Governorate in southern Yeme

“What is happening in Abyan? Why has this province been left alone to pay the price of a dirty regional conflict disguised as a fight against terrorism?” Adel Al-Shuja, who is a currently residing in Spain, wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday evening

He accused the STC leaders of using the fight against terrorism as a pretext to “settle the scores and impose a new reality by force of arms” on the people of Abyan.

Al-Shuja further accused pro-coalition ‘Presidential Leadership Council’ and government of inaction warning that their silence risks reviving the kind of regional hostilities that once tore the country apart.
