Washington prepares blacklist to dispose of pro-coalition “Presidential Leadership Council” members

SANAA, Oct. 23 (YPA) – Political sources and officials have revealed an American tendency, prompted by Saudi Arabia and the UAE, to issue sanctions by the U.S. Treasury targeting a number of “Presidential Leadership Council” members, military leaders, and merchants loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.

Majed Al-Da’ari, head of the “Muraqiboon” (Observers) website, confirmed that the U.S. Treasury has prepared a “blacklist” that includes these officials on charges related to “currency smuggling” and communication with the Sanaa government.

Observers believe that this move represents a Saudi and Emirati exploitation of U.S. sanctions to eliminate some leaders who have become a political and financial burden.

In contrast, other analysts see it as overt American and “Israeli” pressure to push them towards military escalation against the Sanaa government, especially following the abject failure of the Western coalition to curb the Yemeni operations supporting the people of Gaza.
