QUDS, Oct. 23 (YPA) -A detailed report by “Israel Hayom” newspaper has revealed that Saudi Arabia provided field support to “Israel” during its war with Iran in June.
This move is part of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s broader strategy to form a strategic alliance with the US and “Israel,” creating a military bloc aimed at countering Iran’s influence in the region.
Despite tensions over the ongoing conflict in Gaza, communications between Saudi Arabia and “Israel” have continued, albeit at a slow pace.
According to the report, cooperation between Israeli academic, commercial entities and Saudi Arabia has also continued in recent years, marking a gradual, unpublicized rapprochement between the two nations.
The report highlights Israeli researcher Nirit Ofer’s role in facilitating Israeli teams’ participation in the 2021 Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia, alongside her involvement in organizing trade deals and public lectures within the kingdom. These activities reflect the broader diplomatic and economic exchanges taking place behind the scenes.
An unnamed senior US diplomat noted that significant political and economic breakthroughs could occur between Israel and Saudi Arabia in the coming year, especially as Israel approaches its next election. The US administration is reportedly encouraging these developments, viewing them as a complement to previous normalization agreements.
The report also points to Saudi Arabia’s ambition to attract foreign investments, particularly in the fields of technology, energy, and cybersecurity, aligning with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030 initiative.
A key component of Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy appears to be forging a defensive alliance with the United States and Israel, focusing on countering Iran and its regional allies. The report also noted that Saudi Arabia actively intervened in June’s conflict by shooting down drones targeting Israeli territory, citing Israeli security sources.
The October 7th Hamas attack has temporarily disrupted this process, with the Biden administration pressing Saudi Arabia to freeze its public steps toward formal normalization with “Israel.”
In conclusion, Israel Hayom praised the UAE for its continued support of “Israel, “noting that flights to Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport remained operational even during heavy bombardment from Gaza and Yemen.
The report emphasized the UAE’s unwavering commitment to the Abraham Accords despite shifting regional dynamics.
