UAE-backed factions detain cement factory trucks in Abyan

ABYAN, Oct. 20 (YPA) – Armed elements, believed to belong to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions, have detained trucks belonging to the Al-Wahda Cement Factory in Khanfar district, Abyan governorate, southern Yemen.

Well-informed local sources stated on Monday that the elements set up an armed checkpoint in the Bir Al-Husseini area on Sunday night, stopping all of the factory’s trucks, whether those coming in or those leaving, a move that threatens a complete halt to the factory’s operations.

This detention is part of a series of systematic attacks and extortion attempts against the factory and its staff, amid security chaos and silence from local authorities and Saudi-led coalition-aligned factions in the governorate.
