Saudi authorities detain famous Islamic preacher Fawzan

SANAA, July 31 (YPA) – The Saudi authorities on Tuesday detained famous Saudi Islamic preacher Abdul Aziz al-Fawzan.

The move came after al-Fawzan, professor in the Saudi supreme institute for judicial published tweets on his twitter account in which he refuse the oppression of the Saudi authorities for the freedom of the expression and condemned the Sheikhs backed by the authorities.

Earlier, several liberal editors in the Saudi kingdom launched campaign against al-Fawzan.

Al-Fawzan occupied several academic posts in Saudi Arabia and headed the Islamic studies department in Islamic and Arabic institute in Washington and worked as professor in law field in Harford university.
