Senior leader in Aden Coast Guard meets with Israeli officers to secure maritime navigation

ADEN, Oct. 17 (YPA) – A meeting has been held between a delegation of pro-coalition Coast Guard forces in Aden city, south of Yemen, and a number of American, Italian, and Israeli officers aboard the Italian destroyer ITS CAIO DUILIO.

Political sources familiar with the matter revealed the meeting, which took place over the past two days, included the leader of the coalition’s Coast Guard, Khaled Ali al-Qamli, and the commander of the European Union Naval Force in the Red Sea, Rear Admiral Andrea Condamattio, along with Italian officers and officers from the Israeli Mossad.

According to the sources, the meeting discussed the importance of coordinating joint efforts to secure navigation and protect ships in the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea, following his visit to Djibouti in recent days.

These moves come within the context of what the sources described as a search for new mechanisms to address the “European and American failure” to secure “Israeli” navigation in the Red and Arabian Seas.

The sources indicated that these meetings and movements “are part of the outcomes of the so-called Maritime Security Conference” recently held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, under British sponsorship, which aims to utilize “coalition-affiliated factions.” As a “last resort” in a new escalation against Sanaa-based armed forces, specifically to secure Israeli navigation.
