STC’s president expelled from October 14 Revolution event in Dhalea

DHALEA, Oct. 13 (YPA) – Dhalea province, southern Yemen, witnessed on Monday an unprecedented confrontation during the celebration of the 62nd anniversary of the October 14 Revolution, as the President of the UAE-backed “Southern Transitional Council” (STC), Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, was forced to flee the public event.

Local sources reported that massive crowds supporting “Southern Movement” leader Salah Al-Shanfara expelled Al-Zubaidi from his hometown of Dhalea.

This occurred while angry, anti-Al-Zubaidi popular chants were being shouted, such as: “Get out, thief, get out!” and “Get out, traitor, get out!” (A literal translation of the popular chants: “Bara’ ya sariq, bara’,” and “Bara’ ya kha’in, bara'”).

This incident underscores the escalating tensions and deepening political divisions between the STC leadership and Al-Shanfara’s faction, particularly following the fiery accusations of treason leveled by the latter against Al-Zubaidi last week.
