CAIRO, Oct. 12 (YPA) – Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi rejected on Sunday a request from the leadership of the Palestinian Authority to receive Mahmoud Abbas, even privately, during the Sharm El-Sheikh summit.
According to what Al-Araby Al-Jadeed website quoted from sources it described as informed: The Palestinian Authority was not invited to participate in the Sharm El-Sheikh summit on Gaza, scheduled to be held on Monday, with the participation of leaders and heads of 20 countries.
“The Palestinian leadership contacted Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in his capacity as the host of the invitation, and requested him to meet Abbas privately as a message that the Palestinian leadership is still the legitimate and sole representative of the Palestinians, but he did not respond”, according to the source.
The source added that Egypt did not invite the Palestinian Authority to the Sharm El-Sheikh conference, due to the Authority’s absence in Trump’s plan regarding the Gaza Strip.”
