UN agencies affirm their commitment to strengthening partnership with Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sana’a
SANAA, Oct. 08 (YPA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sana’a government, responsible for the International Cooperation Sector, Ambassador Ismail Al-Mutawakel, discussed with the World Food Program’s Special Envoy, Abdullah Alwardat, and the Resident Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Peter Hawkins, areas of cooperation between the Ministry and UN agencies working in the humanitarian field and ways to enhance them.
The meeting reviewed joint coordination mechanisms aimed at raising the efficiency of program management in implementing field projects and addressing the challenges facing their implementation.
The meeting emphasized the need to activate projects in line with humanitarian activities and priority needs, ensuring the integration of efforts between various partners.
During the meeting, Undersecretary Al-Mutawakel emphasized the keenness to raise the level of coordination with UN organizations, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs adopting a national framework organizing humanitarian cooperation programs to ensure unified efforts, prevent duplication, and enhance transparency in resource management and implementation mechanisms.
Alwardat and Peter Hawkins affirmed the commitment of UN agencies to strengthening the partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expanding areas of technical and coordination cooperation, and continuing to implement humanitarian projects efficiently and effectively.
