AMRAN, Oct. 05 (YPA) – A 20-year-old man has died after being violently assaulted in the Amran governorate of northern Yemen, according to local police.
Police said they received a report from residents of the DHa’wan area in the city of Amran, stating that the victim, identified as Ali Abdulwahid Ali Qa’id Al-Dha’wani, had been severely beaten.
Police from the Mujahid Abu Shawarb station responded immediately and transported the victim—who was reportedly in a coma—to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
An initial investigation revealed that the victim was struck in the head with a blunt object, locally referred to as Al-Samiil (a type of wooden club), by a suspect identified as Mohammed Ali Dawood, also 20 years old. Police said the incident followed a verbal altercation between the two men.
Police confirmed that the suspect has been arrested and will be brought to justice upon completion of the legal procedures.
