LAHJ, Sept. 30 (YPA) – The Supreme Council for Revolutionary Movement (Al-Hirak Al-Janubi), has announced a popular uprising against what it described as a “systematic starvation policy” imposed by the Saudi-led coalition, set to take place this Thursday in Radfan district, Lahj province, controlled by UAE-backed factions.
In an official statement, the council said that the peaceful demonstration in the city of Al-Habilayn (Radfan) aims to correct the current political course and confront the systematic starvation policy against citizens.
The council urged citizens to take part in the mass protest, in what it describes as a clear rejection of the current state of affairs. It emphasized the need for change that upholds citizens’ dignity and secures their rights.
It called for the creation of a unified southern front comprising all factions and forces, to coordinate efforts in confronting current challenges and achieving full freedom and sovereignty.
This comes amid a collapse in basic services, rising prices, and a four-month suspension of public salaries. The council accused the coalition of using starvation tactics to exploit southern citizens and recruit them into foreign-backed conflicts.
