Aqrabi Tribe takes first steps of escalation against STC in Aden

ADEN, Sept. 30 (YPA) – The Aqrabi Tribe in Yemen’s Lahj governorate has declared the first steps of popular escalation against UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions, following the assassination of Sheikh Mahdi Al-Aqrabi in Aden last Friday.

The tribe called for a wide consultative meeting on Wednesday, after Asr prayer, near Al-Aqrabi’s residence in Bir Ahmed, urging all tribes and activists to attend.

The meeting aims to pressure STC authorities to reveal the circumstances behind the killing.

In its statement, the tribe described the assassination as a “heinous act” and a matter of public concern, vowing that Al-Aqrabi’s blood “will not be shed in vain.
