Gaza Health Ministry: Catastrophic challenges face medical staff in Gaza

GAZA, Sept. 30 (YPA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza Strip issued a stark warning on Tuesday about the catastrophic challenges facing medical teams due to the escalating crisis of drug and medical consumable shortages.

In a brief statement, the ministry stressed that the Israeli occupation’s obstinacy in hindering the arrival of emergency medical supplies to hospitals is further compounding the health complications for patients and the wounded.

The ministry of health directed an urgent appeal to all concerned parties, calling for immediate action to ensure the safe access of essential medical needs and to prevent the collapse of the healthcare service.

Since last March 2, the Israeli occupation has closed the crossings of the Strip, blocking the entry of food, relief aid, medical supplies, goods, and fuel, which has caused a severe deterioration in humanitarian conditions.

With American backing, the Israeli occupation army has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving over 231,000 people killed and injured, most of them children and women, in addition to more than 9,000 missing individuals.
