Brazil ignores US from international forum in New York

MADRID, Sept. 21 (YPA) – Brazil has decided to exclude the United States from the second forum of the Defending Democracy and Combating Extremism.

CNN Brazil reported that the US sanctions have led Brazil to exclude the US from the forum, which will be held next Wednesday in New York, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

This event is being organized by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, along with the leaders of Chile (Gabriel Boric), Spain (Pedro Sánchez), Colombia (Gustavo Petro), and Uruguay (Yamandú Orsi).

The United States was invited to the first meeting of the forum last year, during the Biden administration, and Washington sent a representative from the State Department.
