SANAA, Sept. 20 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council in Sanaa, Mehdi al-Mashat, affirmed that the September 21 revolution restored Yemen’s historical role at the Arab and Islamic levels, making it a leading force in supporting the oppressed Palestinian people and a strong barrier against normalization efforts and Zionist domination.
In his speech made on Saturday to mark the eleventh anniversary of the September 21st Revolution, President Mashat pointed out that this year’s commemoration has come amidst a period of rapid changes and challenges, a time when the nation is suffering and the Palestinian people are facing the most brutal wave of Zionist aggression and oppression, in US-supported Israeli barbaric massacres unprecedented in history and a violation of all international norms and laws, the latest of these crimes were the treacherous attack against Qatar and the assassination attempt against the Hamas negotiating delegation in Doha, as well as the brutal crime against civilians in the Tahrir neighborhood of Sanaa and in Jawf province, and the attack on the Hodeida port.
He emphasized that the Palestinian cause has been a top priority of the September 21st Revolution since its inception, considering it the central issue and the greatest injustice in the region and the Islamic world stem. The revolution has consistently maintained its principled and religious stance of standing with the Palestinian people and preventing Israeli ships from navigating the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean.
“Today, we mark the end of a decade of brutal US-Saudi aggression, which has continued unabated, employing all their military might, international alliances, and financial and political resources,” he added. “After years of systematic killing, destruction, a suffocating blockade, and deliberate starvation, we stand today stronger, more resilient than ever before to defend our country and deter any further aggression.”
President Mashat reiterated Yemen’s unwavering support for Palestine and its just cause, affirming Yemen’s solidarity, both as a government and a people, with the Arab nations and their peoples who are subjected to ongoing and escalating the American and Western-backed Israeli aggression.
He added, “We had hoped that the extraordinary Doha summit would produce concrete actions rather than mere words and condemnations. The message from the Zionist aggression against Qatar was clear to everyone, saying: We are dealing with an enemy that recognizes no authority except the language of force.”
Al-Mashat reaffirmed Yemen’s stance of supporting Arab and Islamic unity in confronting this threat, which is demonstrated daily by the strikes the armed forces have launched against the depths of the occupying entity.
President Mashat reiterated his commitment to the Yemeni people, pledging to work to restore all their rights and to protect Yemen’s sovereignty, resources, and wealth.
He stated, “We call upon the citizens in the occupied areas to reject the military presence of the occupying forces, urging the aggressor states to fulfill their obligations regarding peace and to compensate Yemen for the damage inflicted by the aggression and blockade.”
Al-Mashat expressed his deepest condolences to the families of all Yemeni martyrs, particularly those killed in the recent Israeli attacks on civilian areas in the Al-Tahrir district and the provinces of Jawf and Hodeida, washing for the wounded the speed recovery.
Finally, President Mashat stated that the Yemeni armed forces would deliver the harshest blows to the criminal Zionist entity, reiterating that the Sanaa government to be committed to fulfilling its duties and serving the people and continuing on this path of fundamental change for the establishment of a modern and just Yemeni state.
