Hadramout governor in Sanaa government condemns pro-coalition government, denounces Israeli delegation visit

SANAA, Sept. 20 (YPA) – Luqman Baras, the governor of Hadramout province in the Sanaa-based government, launched a sharp attack on Saturday against the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in Aden province.

He described their reception of an Israeli delegation as “a political and moral downfall that does not reflect authentic Yemeni traditions.”

“Desecration of Yemeni Soil”

Baras condemned the “so-called Southern Transitional Council (STC), affiliated with the UAE, for receiving an Israeli intelligence delegation under journalistic cover.” He called it a “disgraceful act” and “a betrayal of the sacrifices of martyrs in Yemen, Palestine, and the Arab world.”

He described these actions as a “resounding fall into the quagmire of collaboration,” noting that they are part of a broader effort to “implement American-Israeli conspiracies.”

Baras stated that these moves are intended to “ignite sedition among the people of the one nation” and “destabilize security and stability” in the southern and eastern provinces, serving “American and Zionist agendas.”

Unified Yemeni Stance

The governor commended the “steadfast Yemeni position in support of the Palestinian people,” affirming that the Yemeni leadership and its people “will continue their religious, moral, and humanitarian stance until the aggression is stopped and the siege on Gaza and all of Palestine is lifted.”

He expressed pride in the “wisdom and courage” of the revolution’s leader, Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, in confronting “Israel,” calling the engagement a “victory for the oppressed Palestinian people.”

Baras reaffirmed that the people of the southern and eastern provinces, especially Hadramout, “will remain loyal, supporting the revolutionary, political, and military leadership and backing the battle to defend the homeland and its sovereignty.”

Background of the Incident

The Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post reported last July that members of Israeli intelligence, holding British and American passports, arrived in Aden. There, they met with military and security leaders from the pro-coalition government, including its “Defense Minister,” Mohsen al-Daeri, and leaders from the STC.

The report indicated that the Israeli delegation visited several areas, suggesting intelligence and media cooperation between these groups and the Israeli entity.
