Three civilians injured in Taiz shooting by brother of Islah military leader

TAIZ, Sept. 20 (YPA) – Three civilians were seriously injured after being shot by the brother of the commander of the Islah-aligned military axis in Taiz, which is loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, in a new violent incident reported in the Jabal Habashi district.

According to a human rights source, Farouq Khaled, brother of Taiz Axis Commander Khaled Fadel, opened fire on a public transport vehicle in the Radom area on Wednesday. The driver and two female passengers were hit and severely wounded. Several other passengers escaped unharmed

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear. Victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The attack came just a day after armed men linked to the Islah party assassinated Iftihan al-Mashhari, executive director of the Cleaning and Improvement Fund, while she was driving through central Taiz. The two incidents highlight the deteriorating security situation in coalition-controlled areas of the city.
