Aden governor: “September 21” revolution is people’s will confronting hegemony and defeating foreign ambitions!
SANAA, Sept. 20 (YPA) – The Sanaa-appointed Governor of Aden province, Tariq Mustafa Sallam, affirmed on Friday that the “September 21” Revolution emerged at a pivotal moment in Yemen’s modern history as a new dawn carrying the hopes of a people who had long suffered from foreign interventions and international ambitions.
He explained that this revolution was not merely an internal political change but a reflection of a solid national will that refused to allow Yemen to remain a playground for conspiracies and a target for greedy powers coveting its wealth and strategic location.
In a statement to the “Yemen Press Agency,” Sallam confirmed that the September 21 Revolution came in a complex regional and international context, where Yemen was living under the weight of multi-faceted external influence, aiming to weaken the state and tear apart its social fabric, serving agendas that do not align with the interests of the Yemeni people. The country was mired in successive economic, social, and political crises, exacerbated by the policies of dependency established by hegemonic powers attempting to turn Yemen into a weak state that is easy to control.
The governor added, “In this cloudy atmosphere, the Yemeni people rose up, inspired by their ancient history of resisting invaders and ambitions, to declare their categorical rejection of foreign tutelage. The September 21 Revolution was not a random act but the culmination of a long struggle for freedom, dignity, and independence. The revolution’s leadership, represented by the Mujahid leader Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, may Allah protect him, and its broad masses realized that the only way to preserve Yemen’s sovereignty and unity was to break free from the grip of foreign influence, which was a formidable obstacle to any real progress or development.”
He continued, “The glorious September 21 Revolution played a pivotal role in confronting external hegemony in all its forms. By strengthening the internal front and unifying the national ranks, the revolution was able to thwart the plans that aimed to create division and tear apart national unity. It also worked to build a strong national army and state institutions capable of protecting the country’s sovereignty and resources, far from any dependency or external loyalties. The struggling Yemeni people realized that self-power is the strong shield against international ambitions.”
Sallam noted that defeating international ambitions was not an easy task, as the revolution faced tremendous challenges, represented by regional and international alliances that tried with all their might to abort this national liberation project. However, the Yemeni people’s determination, their legendary steadfastness, and their deep awareness of the conspiracy were enough to smash all those plots. The September 21 Revolution proved that the will of the people is stronger than all the fleets of invaders and the conspiracies of plotters.
He affirmed, “The discerning observer can see the vast difference between the conditions in the liberated provinces and the areas under the authority of the aggression coalition (the Saudi-led coalition) and its tools in Aden and see the fundamental difference between an independent national project and external agendas that serve interests unrelated to Yemen. In Sanaa and the liberated provinces, despite the challenges of aggression and siege, the situation is witnessing concerted efforts and tremendous endeavors to maintain state cohesion and provide basic services to citizens, with a focus on enhancing steadfastness and developing self-capabilities. This national stance is evident in the clear pursuit of managing the country’s affairs with a pure national will and directing available resources toward serving the people.”
Aden’s governor pointed out that, “In complete contrast, the occupied provinces under the authority of the coalition mercenaries (pro-coalition authorities) show another picture, as they suffer from a continuous deterioration in basic services, the spread of chaos, and the worsening of economic and living conditions. These conditions are evident in the absence of a strong central state and the multiplicity of loyalties and dependencies on external powers that are fighting over influence and wealth, which prevents any real stability or development. This exposes the reality of this coalition and reveals the true nature of its goals and exposes the mercenaries’ lack of any independent political will after their authority turned into a cheap tool in the hands of the aggression coalition states (Saudi Arabia and the UAE), which deal with it according to their interests and whims, without any regard for the interests of the Yemeni people or their sovereignty.”
He concluded his statement by affirming, “Today, years after its launch, the September 21 Revolution still represents a beacon of inspiration for all peoples yearning for liberation and independence. The Yemeni people’s celebrations today on the anniversary of their blessed revolution are a reminder that sovereignty is not just a slogan but the fruit of struggle and sacrifices, and that Yemen, with its proud people, will never accept being a follower or a haven for the ambitions of others. The revolution has confirmed that Yemen today is stronger and more immune in the face of any attempt to impose tutelage or undermine its dignity and sovereignty.”
