ABYAN, Sept.09 (YPA) – A grieving Yemeni woman has issued a public plea for justice after her husband and four children were killed when a UAE-backed armored vehicle allegedly ran them over late last month in Abyan province.
In a widely circulated video on social media, the woman – the wife of the late Mohammed Ali Salem, a resident of Attiyah Fort in Khanfar district, appeared alongside her father and brother, appealing to tribal leaders in Yafa’a and Abyan to stand with her in seeking justice.
The woman stressed that she had not forgiven those responsible for the killing of her family, condemning attempts to dismiss the case without her involvement.
“I call on the sheikhs of Yafa’a and Abyan to rise in support of my demand for justice and accountability,” she said in the emotional appeal.
She accused influential actors of attempting to bury the case without her consent, treating her as though she were irrelevant to the deaths of her own family. She appealed to the media, activists, and human rights organizations to adopt her case
The incident occurred in late August near the city of Ja’ar, when a speeding armored vehicle, reportedly affiliated with UAE-backed commander Abdulrahman al-Shanini, ran over and killed the woman’s husband and four children as they rode a motorcycle.
