OCCUPIED QUDS / GAZA – A significant escalation in Palestinian resistance operations on Monday resulted in the death of 11 Israelis, including seven killed in a shooting in occupied Quds (Jerusalem) and four others during clashes in the Gaza Strip, according to Hebrew media reports.
Hebrew channels identified one of the Jerusalem victims as Rabbi Yosef David, noting an atmosphere of grief and shock among the media. They sharply questioned the value of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s promises of “absolute victory.”
According to Hebrew media, the operation was carried out by three Palestinians: Muthanna Amro, Muhammad Taha, and Dafa Al-Ayash. Following the attack, the Israeli occupation forces launched a widespread arrest campaign, detaining the father of one of the assailants, Muthanna Amro, in Jerusalem.
The attacks came shortly after Israeli War Minister Yisrael Katz escalated his threats Monday morning, vowing “fierce bombing” against the residents of Gaza. The response from the field was swift, with what Hebrew media described as “painful” operations in both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
These developments have sparked a wide-ranging debate within Israeli political circles. Several ministers in the war cabinet called on Netanyahu to dismantle the Palestinian Authority following the Jerusalem attack. Meanwhile, Knesset member Tzvi Sukkot from the Religious Zionist Party advocated for a harsher policy, stating that “every village from which perpetrators emerged should meet the fate of Rafah.” He added that “Ramallah, Nablus, and Jenin will share the fate of Al-Shuja’iyya and Beit Hanoun.”
