Hamas responds to Trump: We agreed to mediators’ proposal, Netanyahu is the one obstructing prisoner exchange
SANAA, Sept. 04 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) responded, on Thursday, to Trump’s call to return the Israeli prisoners, stressing that Netanyahu, the war criminal wanted by the International Criminal Court, is the real obstructor of the prisoner exchange deal and ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas leader Izzat al-Rishq said in a press statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba): “US President Donald Trump said: I tell Hamas to immediately return all 20 hostages, not 2, 5, or 7, and things will change quickly.”
He added: “We tell US President Trump that Hamas agreed on August 18 to the mediators’ proposal, which is originally based on the proposal of US envoy Witkoff, and Netanyahu has not responded to him yet. We have also expressed our readiness for a comprehensive deal in which all prisoners are released in exchange for an agreed-upon number of our prisoners in the prisons of the Zionist enemy, in a way that achieves a cessation of war and the withdrawal of the enemy.”
“We confirm that Netanyahu is the real obstructor of the exchange deals and ceasefire. He wants an endless war,” Al-Rishq continued.
