GAZA, Aug. 28 (YPA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that the ongoing Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip and evacuation orders are forcing entire families to once again abandon their homes amid fear and devastation.
Members of the UN Security Council, with the exception of the United States, called in a joint statement for an immediate, lasting, and unconditional ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
They also urged for a significant increase in aid throughout the Strip and for Israel, the occupying power, to immediately and unconditionally lift all restrictions on the delivery of aid.
The statement called on “Israel” to immediately reverse its decision to seize control of Gaza City. “This decision, which we reject, will inevitably exacerbate the humanitarian situation and put the lives of all civilians at risk.”
