Israeli occupation issues 6 tenders to build more than 4,000 colonial units in Salfit, Jerusalem

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Aug. 14 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation authorities have issued six tenders for construction and expansion for the settlements of Ariel, located on lands in the Salfit Governorate, and Ma’ale Adumim, located on lands in the Jerusalem Governorate, totaling 4,000 new settlement units.

The Wall and Colonization Resistance Commission explained that the six tenders are divided into three tenders for the expansion of the new neighborhood of Ariel West, in order to build a total of 730 new units, and three other tenders for the expansion of the Ma’ale Adumim settlement, the largest of which is tender number 320/2025, which aims to build 2,902 new settlement units.

The commission added that the Ma’ale Adumim plans were approved last July, while the Ariel plans were approved last May.

This raises major questions about the speed with which the tenders were issued after approval, and confirms the race against time methodology followed by the occupying state to impose new facts on the ground of the Palestinian territory.

The commission also pointed out that the map attached to the tender allocated for “Ariel West” shows that the site is more than two kilometers away from the “Ariel” settlement, which means that the occupation intends to establish a new settlement without announcing it.
