Angry protest organized against corruption of coalition-backed authorities in Taiz

TAIZ, Aug. 09 (YPA) – Dozens of protesters demonstrated, on Saturday, in front of the headquarters of the coalition authorities in Taiz province, demanding the improvement of basic services and the cleansing of institutions from corruption.

Participants in the demonstration, which included young men and women, raised banners denouncing the continuing escalating crises, especially with the continued power outages, water scarcity, and rising prices.

The protesters also accused the coalition-backed authorities of negligence and inability to improve service and living conditions amid the worsening suffering of the people.

These protests come as an expression of growing popular discontent with the deteriorating living conditions, in light of the absence of any real solutions from the coalition government, especially in providing water.
