1,444 Zionist settler attacks against Palestinians recorded during first half of 2025

OCCUPIED QUDS, July 31 (YPA) – The Applied Research Institute – Jerusalem (ARIJ) recorded 1,444 settler attacks against Palestinian civilians between January and June of this year, 2025, along with the displacement of 38 Palestinian communities from their homes.

In its report issued Thursday, the institute noted an unprecedented increase in settler attacks in the West Bank, explaining that the impact of these attacks goes beyond the numbers, as they are reflected in the daily suffering affecting various aspects of Palestinian life. This suffering is manifested in the difficulty of accessing water sources and agricultural lands, especially those adjacent to Zionist settlements and outposts, in addition to the restriction of Palestinian citizens’ movement through the closure of roads and village entrances, exposing them to various forms of psychological and physical violence.

The report added that Palestinians live under a complex siege, not only due to the Apartheid Wall, but also through a network of organized violence that begins with settler attacks and continues to the unjust Israeli military laws.

The institute emphasized that these attacks are not merely random or isolated incidents but rather part of a systematic policy aimed at displacing Palestinians from their lands and emptying them of their indigenous inhabitants in order to achieve expansionist goals, including the expansion of illegal settlements and outposts and the seizure of additional land for planned settlement purposes.

According to the institute, the settler attacks amounted to (579) in 2020, (911) in 2021, (1527) in 2022, (2191) in 2023, (2444) in 2024, and (1444) attacks up to June of this year.

ARIJ explained that the details of the attacks and violations committed by settlers between January and June of this year varied, including attacks on places of worship, seizure of Palestinian land, and attacks on civilians, livestock, property, natural resources, and other targets.

According to the institute’s data, Hebron topped the list of settler attacks, with 246 recorded, followed by Ramallah and al-Bireh with 229, Nablus with 217, Jerusalem with 160, Tubas with 155, Salfit with 148, Jericho with 138, Bethlehem with 78, Qalqilya with 44, and Tulkarm with 18.

The report confirmed that settler groups have worked in recent months to displace dozens of Bedouin families from their homes in the West Bank, with a focus on Bedouin communities in the cities of Hebron, Ramallah, and al-Bireh, and seizing the Palestinian lands they previously inhabited.

The institute cited a study by the Israeli organization B’Tselem, stating that since the beginning of the Israeli war of extermination on Gaza, settlers have attacked 38 Bedouin communities, completely displacing their residents.

ARIJ emphasized that the violations committed by Israeli settlers in the West Bank against Palestinian civilians, including killings, lethal live ammunition, physical assaults, burning of land and trees, attacks on property including homes and cars, and forced displacement, constitute serious violations and breaches of international humanitarian law and international human rights law.
