Israeli occupation continues to ban Mufti of Al-Quds from Al-Aqsa Mosque

OCCUPIED QUDS, July 27 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation authorities on Sunday deported the Grand Mufti of Al-Quds city (Jerusalem) and the occupied Palestinian territories and preacher at Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, from the mosque for a week, subject to renewal.

The decision came following his sermon on the Gaza tragedy. The Al-Quds Governorate administration confirmed that the deportation was extended for an additional eight days due to his denunciation of the starvation policy against Palestinians.

Sheikh Muhammad Hussein explained that the investigation focused on his sermon and his refusal to sign the deportation order.

This measure is part of a series of Israeli practices against religious and national figures in Al-Quds aimed at silencing dissenting voices within Al-Aqsa Mosque.

This policy is part of a comprehensive campaign aimed at limiting the free expression of opposition to the ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people, particularly the Gaza Strip, which has been under a stifling blockade for 148 consecutive days.

Israeli pressure against Al-Quds’ preachers and imams has recently escalated, with increasing restrictions on freedom of expression during Friday sermons and the implementation of a systematic exclusion policy. Dozens of Palestinian in Al-Quds are being prevented from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque as part of these measures, which aim to influence the Palestinian religious and political presence in the Holy City.
