Earthquake magnitude of 3 degrees hits southwest of Sanaa

DHAMAR, July 21 (YPA) – An earthquake magnitude of 3 degrees on the Richter scale stuck Monday southwest of the capital,Sanaa.

The Center for Monitoring and Studying Earthquakes and Volcanoes in Dhamar province affirmed in statement that its stations recorded a mild earthquake 52 kilometers southwest of the capital, at (5:28, am.

The statement also recorded a number of distant earthquakes and regional tremors, including an earthquake measuring (5.7) degrees on the Russian Kamchatka Peninsula, and an earthquake measuring (3.7) degrees on the Richter scale in Ethiopia.

These tremors come amidst escalating seismic activity in the country. According to the statement, specialists at the center are working around the clock to monitor, observe, and study seismic activity locally, regionally, and internationally.
