Itamar Ben-Gvir brags about policy of starving Palestinian prisoners

ALQUDS, July 17 (YPA) – Israeli occupation’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir bragged on Thursday about the policy of starving Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

During his attendance at a hearing before the Israeli Supreme Court, filed by the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI), a non-governmental organization, to halt these practices, Ben-Gvir stated that he seeks to allocate “the minimum amount of food for the prisoners.

“Instead of discussing how to strengthen deterrence, they are asking whether the menu is balanced, healthy, and contains enough vitamins,” he said in a post on the X, describing it as madness and delusion in light of the state of war currently gripping Israel.”

He stressed that he would work to ration food for the prisoners, saying: “I am here to ensure that the terrorists receive the minimum food.”

For its part, the Association for Civil Rights in “Israel” explained on its Facebook page that Ben-Gvir “arrived at the Supreme Court himself to cause a stir, or perhaps to disrupt the session and intimidate the judges, take photos with police officers, and make populist statements.”

The association noted that the petition was submitted after the publication of countless testimonies describing a systematic policy of food shortages, to the point of starvation.

“There are 10,762 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons,” according to the Israeli Prison Service reports.
