THE HAGUE, July 17 (YPA) – A Pre-Trial Chamber I of the International Criminal Court (ICC) rejected a request to revoke arrest warrants and suspend the investigation against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Galant.
In a decision issued on Wednesday, Pre-Trial Chamber I announced its rejection of Israeli request, dated May 9, 2025, to revoke the arrest warrants and suspend the investigation.
The court’s decision stated that Israeli the occupation had submitted two separate requests in this case. The first requested that the arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Galant. The second requested that the Office of the Prosecutor suspend the ongoing investigation into the situation in Palestine.
The decision added it had rejected the justifications for the objection presented by the occupation, in which it argued that the International Criminal Court did not have jurisdiction to consider crimes committed in the Palestinian territories.
