Series of Israeli airstrikes hit Syria

DAMASCUS, July 16 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation’s warplanes launched series of violent airstrikes on Wednesday on strategic sites in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

According to Syrian media, the Israeli aggression targeted a building of the Ministry of Defense and the vicinity of the presidential palace, as well as the General Staff Palace.

This marks a significant escalation in a series of strikes the occupation has been carrying out on Syrian territory since the beginning of the year.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the strikes coincided with intense Israeli warplane flying over southern Syria, with two violent explosions occurring in the city of Sweida simultaneously with the attacks in Damascus.
