Israeli occupation forces launch large-scale arrest campaign in West Bank

WEST BANK, July 14 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces continued on Monday their campaign of raids and arrests across various areas of the occupied West Bank, targeting former prisoners, university students, and youths from families known for their activism.

Among those detained were the sons of a prisoner serving a life sentence and a student from the Faculty of Engineering at Birzeit University.

In the town of Qaffin, north of Tulkarm, Israeli forces arrested two Palestinian brothers. In Nablus, they detained one young man from the village of Balata al-Balad and another from the Balata refugee camp.

Meanwhile, a young man was arrested after being assaulted along with his father in south of Nablus. He was taken into custody while bleeding from a head injury sustained during the attack.

In Ramallah, Israeli occupation forces arrested a Palestinian engineering student from Birzeit University, a resident of the village of Ein ‘Arik.

A young man from Kafr Ni’ma, west of the city, was also detained, along with three others from the village of Beitin, east of Ramallah.

In Salfit Governorate, the occupation forces rearrested a former prisoner after raiding his home in the village of Marda. Another resident from the same village was also detained.

In Hebron, occupation forces stormed the town of Halhul, north of Hebron, and arrested three individuals.

In the town of Sa’ir, northeast of Hebron, a young man was arrested after forces raided and searched several homes, vandalizing their contents.

During the arrests, multiple detainees were brutally assaulted and subjected to mistreatment.

This campaign is part of an ongoing escalation across towns and cities in the occupied West Bank, marked by a surge in arrests, home raids, and abuse of Palestinian civilians, particularly former prisoners and relatives of martyrs.
