Pro-Palestine activists inaugurate the Running of the Bulls Festival in Spain

SANAA, July 06 (YPA) – A new edition of the famous and controversial “Running of the Bulls” event kicked off in the northern Spanish city of Pamplona on Sunday, amid an unusual political atmosphere.

Pro-Palestinian activists were chosen to open the nine-day San Fermin Festival, with the traditional “Chupinazo” event, which took place at noon (10:00 a.m. GMT).

The event saw the launch of a small rocket from the balcony of the town hall, signaling the start of the festival.

The “Yalla Navarra con Palestina” platform clearly won a popular vote to open the celebrations, according to the German Press Agency.

Three members of this platform, which accuses Israel of committing genocide in the Gaza Strip and demands the severing of all ties with it, were tasked with launching the ceremony.

The activists seek to draw attention to the ongoing war between Israel and Palestinian factions, led by Hamas, in the Gaza Strip, which began in October 2023 with an attack launched by the Palestinian armed movement on Israel.
